Each boat adheres to fishing quotas based on MSC sustainability research. The fishermen harvest scallops in-shore in the Bay of Fundy, and hand shuck and store them on the boat. Once the scallops are offloaded, they are IQF frozen within 24 hours with no additives or tampering to the raw natural product, ensuring their flavour and texture are uncompromised.

Nautical Seafoods began with just one boat and a longing to be at sea. The owner comes from a long line of fishermen, with both his father and his father’s father having spent their lives on the water. What started as a one boat operation, has now grown into a larger, federally licensed and MSC certified operation, boasting a fleet of independently owned and captained scallop dredging boats.
These scallops are known for their signature fresh sweetness and beautiful tender texture which is a result of the near perfect conditions of the Bay of Fundy waters. Boasting the highest tides in the world, the bay’s tidal flows support the scallop’s growth with nourishment being swept in with every tide. It is for this reason and despite the area’s 200 years of rich fishing history, that scallops have become their key export and are celebrated worldwide.
