Seed to Sausage originally began as a hobby for Mike Mackenzie, while he was working for the Canadian Armed Forces as a sonar operator chasing submarines (yes, really!).
Eventually, Mike decided to expand from just offering his highly sought after cured meat products to family and friends. Before opening, Mike spent some time learning techniques from chefs and sausage makers in Europe.
Mike’s goal at Seed to Sausage is use local ingredients wherever possible, and with as few additives as possible. The end result: a fantastic line of cured meat products – they were some of the very first meat products 100km Foods decided to carry!
