About:

Don and Marion Thompson began Thompson’s farm as a dairy and potato farm back in 1943, working the land alongside their five children. John, one of Don’s sons, took a keen interest in the family business and joined in as a full-time farmer.

In the 1980’s, they decided to streamline their business, sell their dairy herd and focus on potatoes. In 1994, John’s son R.J. joined the family business after graduating from Guelph University (where John also attended).

Nowadays, the farm is run by John, R.J and R.J’s wife B.J. They pride themselves on utilizing best practice environmental standards, such as integrated pest management and work closely with the ministry of agriculture to reduce & optimize pesticide use.
